Listing Publisher helps you optimize an existing Amazon listing using the keyword intelligence from a Data Dive Niche, then publish the updated listing directly to Amazon.
It brings together your live Amazon listing, Master Keyword List data, competitor benchmarks, listing validation, AI copywriting, Amazon product attributes, and version history in one workspace.
💡 Important: Listing Publisher uses the Niche you select as the source for its keyword and competitor data. For useful recommendations and scoring, choose a Niche that closely matches the product you're optimizing and contains strong, relevant competitor data.
What you need before getting started
Listing Publisher requires:
- An Amazon Connection
- An existing Niche in Data Dive
If either is missing, Listing Publisher will guide you through creating it before you can start a listing project.
Creating a Listing Publisher project
Go to Listing Publisher from the left-hand navigation.
Your Listing Publisher dashboard contains your existing projects as well as live products from your connected Amazon accounts.
You can start in either of two ways:
- Click + New Listing Project
- Find a product under Optimize your live Amazon listings and click Optimize
Step 1: Select the Amazon listing
Choose Optimize an existing Amazon listing.
Create a new listing from scratch is not currently available.
Next:
- Select the appropriate Amazon Connection and marketplace.
- Select the Amazon product you want to optimize.
- Click Continue.
Listing Publisher will use the live listing associated with that product.
Step 2: Select a Niche
Choose the Data Dive Niche that best represents the product.
You can search your existing Niches and filter them by Space or Label.
If you do not already have an appropriate Niche, click + New Niche to create one first.
Once you've selected the correct Niche, click Continue.
Data Dive will then import the live listing from Amazon and create your Listing Publisher project.
⚠️ Choose the Niche carefully. Ranking Juice, keyword recommendations, competitor comparisons, and AI-generated copy are based on the selected Niche. Using a Niche for a different product or a poorly researched competitor set will result in less useful optimization data.
Understanding the Listing Publisher editor
Once the listing has been imported, Listing Publisher displays your Amazon content alongside the keyword and competitor data from your selected Niche.
New Listing Publisher Ranking Juice
New Listing Publisher Ranking Juice (not to be confused with the Legacy Listing Builder Ranking Juice) is a 0–100 score representing the keyword strength of your listing.
The score considers:
- Which keyword roots your listing uses
- Where those keywords appear
- Search volume
- How your listing compares with competitors in the Niche
The benchmark beneath the score shows the Ranking Juice of the top competitor so you can compare your listing against the market.
Best Keywords Used
The Best Keywords Used metric shows how many of the Niche's highest-value keywords are already represented in your listing content.
For example:
1/20 Best Keywords Used
means your listing currently uses 1 of the 20 selected Best Keywords.
Competitor Leaderboard
The competitor leaderboard compares your listing against products from the selected Niche.
You can see metrics such as:
- Best Keywords used
- Ranking Juice
This gives you a quick way to understand how your listing compares with competing listings before publishing changes.
Using Best Keywords and Roots
The keyword panel on the left side of the editor shows the Best Keywords and Roots associated with the Niche.
Keywords are identified based on whether they're currently:
- Used
- Partially used
- Not used
As you edit the listing, the panel and Ranking Juice score update to reflect your keyword coverage.
This allows you to optimize the copy while seeing how your changes affect keyword coverage.
Editing your Amazon listing
Listing Publisher imports the existing listing content and lets you edit it directly.
Depending on the product, this can include:
- Title
- Item Highlights
- Bullet Points
- Product Description
- Backend Search Terms
- Images
- Product attributes and details
Character counts are displayed alongside supported fields.
Validators
Fields also include Validators that check the listing against Amazon's requirements.
These help identify whether the content satisfies the applicable rules for that field before publishing.
Product attributes
Listing Publisher also imports the product attributes associated with the Amazon product type.
Depending on the category, these may include fields such as:
- Color
- Material
- Size
- Capacity
- Dimensions
- Weight
- Number of Items
- Pattern
- Recommended Uses
- Manufacturer information
- Other category-specific attributes
The fields shown depend on the Amazon Product Type assigned to the listing.
Product Type cannot currently be changed from Listing Publisher.
Rewriting the listing with AI
Instead of rewriting the listing manually, you can click Rewrite With AI.
The AI Copywriter uses the highest-Ranking Juice keywords from the selected Master Keyword List to generate optimized listing copy while following Amazon's rules for length and restricted terms.
The AI can rewrite content such as:
- Title
- Bullet Points
- Product Description
Before generating the new version, Data Dive saves your current draft so that you can return to it later.
💡 Generating a listing uses 1 AI Copywriter task. Nothing is published to Amazon when you generate AI copy.
After generation, you can review and edit the AI-created content just like any other draft.
Version History
Listing Publisher automatically keeps versions of your listing as you work.
Click Version History at the top of the project to view previous versions.
Versions may include, for example:
- Original import
- AI-optimized version
- Current draft
Each version includes its Ranking Juice and Best Keyword coverage at that point in time.
Comparing versions
Enable Compare with Last Version to view two versions side by side.
This makes it easier to see exactly what changed between drafts before deciding which content you want to publish.
Reviewing and publishing
When you're satisfied with your listing, click Review & Publish.
This begins the final review process before the changes are submitted to your connected Amazon account.
Listing Publisher projects on the main dashboard can appear under statuses such as:
- Draft
- Publishing
- In Sync
- Issues
You can use these filters to quickly see the current status of your listing projects.
What happens if Amazon changes the listing afterward?
Amazon can sometimes modify listing content after you've published it. This can happen because of catalog updates, contributions from other sellers, Amazon-side edits, or other catalog changes.
Listing Publisher does not automatically revert Amazon's changes back to the version you previously published.
This applies to changes such as:
- Title
- Bullet Points
- Description
- Images
- Product type or category-related changes
When you open the listing's publishing workflow again, Data Dive can check the live Amazon listing against the version in Listing Publisher and surface differences. You can then review the current state before deciding whether to publish your Data Dive version again.
💡 Listing Publisher does not currently provide an automatic webhook or alert when Amazon changes a published listing.
For users working with the Data Dive API, listing changes are also available through:
/v1/sellers/:sellerId/marketplaces/:marketplace/listing-changes
This endpoint can return detected changes across the seller's products, including changes to title, bullets, description, images, and price. It is separate from the Listing Publisher workflow.
Choosing the right Niche
The Niche you connect to the listing is one of the most important parts of Listing Publisher.
The Niche determines the:
- Master Keyword List used for optimization
- Best Keywords and Roots
- Competitor leaderboard
- Ranking Juice benchmark
- Keyword data used by AI Copywriter
For best results, use a Niche built around the same type of product you're optimizing and make sure the competitors in that Niche are genuinely relevant.
For example, a listing for a seed starter tray should be connected to a well-built seed starter tray Niche, not a broader or unrelated gardening Niche.
A strong, relevant Niche gives Listing Publisher better data to work with and makes the resulting scores and optimization recommendations substantially more meaningful.
