Data Dive offers both direct API access and an MCP connection for customers who want to access their Data Dive data programmatically or through supported AI tools.
Who can use API & MCP
API and MCP access are available only to Standard and Enterprise customers.
You must also have full admin rights for your Data Dive organization to view the API and MCP connection pages.
Starter plans do not include API or MCP access.
How to create your API key
- Go to:
https://2.datadive.tools/api-key - Create your API key from the page.
- From there, you can also access the API documentation and manage your existing key.
Keep your API key secure. Treat it like a password and avoid sharing it publicly.
API documentation
Full API documentation is available here:
https://developer.datadive.tools/docs#/v1
The documentation includes:
- Available endpoints
- Request and response examples
- Authentication details
- Supported parameters and functionality
Connecting Data Dive to AI tools with MCP
Data Dive also provides a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, allowing supported AI tools to connect directly to your Data Dive account.
You can manage and set up MCP connections here:
The MCP page includes the Data Dive MCP server URL, setup guides, and a list of tools that have already been authorized to access your organization.
MCP can be used with compatible AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.
Once connected, you can use natural language to work with supported Data Dive data and actions. For example:
- “List my latest niches”
- “Show keyword data for this niche”
- “How are my rankings trending?”
MCP uses your organization’s Data Dive API access behind the scenes, while providing AI tools with a structured way to interact with Data Dive.
Managing MCP connections
From the MCP page, admins can review authorized tools, available permissions, and recent usage.
You can also revoke individual MCP connections without needing to rotate your organization’s API key.
Plan and permission limitations
If you are on the Starter plan, API and MCP access will not be available.
If you are on an eligible plan but cannot see the API or MCP pages, confirm that you have full admin rights for the organization.
If you have questions about API access, MCP setup, permissions, or upgrading your plan, reach out to our support team.
